Field of Study

Civil Engineering
The major fields of study are:

  • Structural Engineering
  • Estuarine and Coastal Engineering
  • Geotechnical Engineering
  • Transportation and Urban Engineering
  • Concrete Engineering


All of the education, such as classes, seminars, and studios, are carried out in English. Master thesis and dissertation should be written in English.

Academic Requirements

Doctoral Program

The Doctoral Course in the program is exclusively research study. The progress of research will be continually supervised, monitored and assessed by the respective supervisor through laboratory discussions, seminars, and presentation throughout the study period. The successful completion of the dissertation research with peer-reviewed academic publications is a key for the graduation.


3 years (6 semesters)

Requirements for Graduation:

  • Satisfactorily complete at least 6 credits of course works, 6 credits of Off-Campus Practice and 8 credits of seminars.
  • Satisfactorily pass dissertation examination assessed by a committee which is composed of at least 5 committee members in related fields.

5th Semester Research Continuation
6th Semester Preliminary Dissertation Exam ( June)
Final Dissertation Exam (July/August)


Master Program

Master course students in the program are required to take necessary credits of course works and studios/internship and additional successful completion of the master thesis. Student's research progress is supervised and assessed by the respective supervisor during discussion, seminars, and presentation within laboratory throughout the study period.


2 years (4 semesters)

Requirements for Graduation:

  • Satisfactorily complete at least 30 credits of course works, studios/internship and seminars
  • Successfully pass master thesis examination.
